October 2016_Cincinnati, Ohio: A machine resale company contracted us to assist with a machine upgrade for their customer. Once they finished updating the machine, PowerSafe Automation was asked to come in and design safety guarding for this mechanical press. Guarding on this type of machine can be challenging, because once the press is in cycle it won’t stop until it finishes its revolution even when an electronic signal is applied. We were able to design a perimeter guard with door locks that won’t release until a sensor validates the cycle has been completed. After a successful installation, the reseller was able to release the machine back to the customer.
